Pietta 1851 Navy Used Price

Hickok and Davis Tutt would probably disagree.
I would join them, the .36 has fed me a couple times, that's pretty useful. And from my own penetration tests, and others I have seen on video, it's not quite the pop gun some think it is.

CCI must have really cut back on production. I guess with the current Bozo in the White House things are gonna stay scarce. Especially shooting supplies.
It's the shortage of raw materials, that are all going into the production of ammo for our friend the dictator. The one with the "Z".

It has been 3 or 4 years since I have seen any rem #10s at a store.

I was lucky to have stocked up, local Wally world was carrying CCI caps. I would buy 2 tins each time I was there. Then some conehead store manager decided they weren't gonna sell them anymore.

I stocked up also, when you could still get them. Of course no matter how many one stocks up on, you wish that you had got more. !!! The CCI's seem to fit most of the aftermarket cones well. It's the factory cones that tend to be small and require the Remington caps. ? That has been my experience. Not too long ago I had to reduce the diameter of some cones, but I don't remember if they were Slix-shots, or Trescos or what. Right now I have the stainless cones from TOW on everything, and they fit perfectly. Having said all that, I have the factory cones back on the 1862, and they are a perfect fit cap-wise.

It's them dang revolvers that eat up all the caps and powder! I'm down to my last pound of pistol powder, but the shelf is still full of 2fg, 1fg, and 1.5fg. As I came into a large amount of musket caps, for free, (!!!!!) I've switched all my percussion rifles over to musket cones, and of course the "Zouaves" and the 1861 are already that flavor. If I can slow down on the pistol shooting, my cap supply should hold out pretty good. I would of course buy more #11's if I came across some.

I'm still sitting pretty on caps. I bought about 2k in 2020 when I got back from deployment. LGS had cases and cases of them. BP pistols were starting to get a bit scarce then, and so were caps and powder. But my LGS kinda anticipated ammo and reloading components drying up. When they started having issues getting primers and ammo they started buying BP gear. I started buying a tin or 2 per paycheck at $5 per tin. When they passed $10 per tin I stopped buying. By that time I had amassed quite a bit. Way more than I initially thought, or even realized as little as a year ago. I've shot plenty since then (though a bit less these days), and I originally thought I only bought 9 or 10 tins. I've shot a bunch (in BP terms) since 2020, and I still have 9 tins left. Still good on powder too.

That said, I would snap up more right now at $10 per tin or less.

To the OPs original question, I would have to know the owner well and know how the revolver was treated before I spent more than $200 on it. In fact, im not so sure I'd drop that much on a used C&B unless I knew the owner was at least as picky as I on maintenance.

I hear ya! Fortunately I can repair just about any of them, have had one or two in the shop that were a real challenge, never had to toss in the towel on any of them so far.

I mostly use 2F in my revolvers.
I have, and it works fine, but best results for me is with 4fg, so that's what I'm locked into now. When I did my last powder resupply, they was out of 3fg. 4fg seems to be the most clean burning in my pistols. If I were to actually run out of 4fg, of course I can use pretty much anything. !!

Yes, it's producing 1000fps in my 1860, with only a 5.75" barrel. If my math is correct, that outshines a 9X19mm.
