You must have miss read the statement you were quoting.
I don't think anyone was inured though, so no biggie.

I never said that.

He said if you want a blued frame, get a Remy. I just pointed out the R&S which is a top gun.

You quoted 1KPerDay's post "...If you want a Pietta cap and ball revolver with a blued steel frame, try a Remington New Model Army."

They're old.

I haven't purchased a Pietta product in 12 years so wasn't sure what changes they've made since then other than moving to CNC. Definitely looks like they made some improvements since then. Not sure why they are so insistent on the billboard markings. Pietta sales would probably go up if they changed the way they mark them. Uberti sales would probably go up if they addressed the short arbor issue. Italians must be stubborn...LOL!

They changed the Pietta tail on the grips in 2015 I think but they thickened them up in places they shouldn't have. They should have left the tail alone and did away with the flare on the front that gave it that trombone look pus they should have left them slender and not fattened them up. Plenty of original Colts had a tail similar to Pietta but they didn't have that forward flare.

I just purchased a Pietta 1851 Navy and it had the "how ever they do it" case hardned colors on the frame. It also had the two piece checkered plastic grips panels and I have neve see a more uncomfortable and ill fitted set of grip on a pistol in my life. When I get time I''ll make some nice wood grips for it but have other irons in the fire at this time. I haven't even found time to shoot it when the wind isn't blowing so much it's a waste of time to go shooting. My gunpowder supply, black or smokeless, had dwindled very little this year. I'm becoming a little frustrated.

Basspro had lead round balls for $19.99 and the LGS had them for $10.99 . IMO basspro is like CTD with their pricing . I paid the price for the primers , but they won’t be my first choice in the future .

Look at the one pictured above #170038 , It is the model with polymer grips . I can really see the case color and it mentions it in the description . Maybe it is a bad picture, but they don’t look the same color and it doesn’t mention CCH anywhere in the description like most of the descriptions do in the model I first referred to with the walnut grip .
I have the plastic grip case hardened one. I wish I had walnut grips but i think the frame looks great even if it ain't a real CCH

I nicknamed mine "Moby Dick" because of it's big ol' white whale tail.

I didn't mean those plastic grips. Mine are the brown ones that from a great distance look like wood. Ol moby dick there ought to be the gun used by an ex gunslinger turned corrupt preacher who is the arch nemesis of the hero in a western lol

I have two 1851s. I only have a picture of the Sheriff’s model. Bought from Dixie Gun Works. Caliber is .44. 92D2A887-BC49-49A6-8C6E-299BCFB5D204.jpeg
