OK, guys. I just picked up a Pietta 1860 snub nose. This is a older gun with a full size grip frame and grip.
So the question is: Can I change it to a birds head grip? I can get the backstap and grip for the 1873 from Pietta from a couple of places. Is it interchangeable?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I think the grips from the 51 Navy are a direct swap. a bit small than the 60 grips. I will try a swap later with some of my revolvers and see.

Thanks, someone else mention the 1851 swap too. I want smaller grip so my son can shoot it better. Thanks guys.

Well, I have a 1851 ordered from Cabelas. $169.99 shipped. It's a brass frame piece. Comes with a extra cylinder. So I'm going to swap the grips and keep the extra cylinder too. Then I'll sale the put together one.
Thanks for the input guys
:D

All my Pietta 1860s wear Pietta 1851 grips (6 pairs), except those that have Uberti Thunderer grips (3 guns)

How much work did it take to fit the Uberti grip frames to the Pietta? Do the screw holes even line up?

The screw holes line up, but the angle of the holes in the TG is a bit different.
I had to enlarge the TG holes just a hair to give the screws a bit more play & then they fit just fine.
