pietta 58 screw size

hi everyone, i have a Pietta 1858 new army of current production, and am looking to get the trigger guard off. The screws are very tight, and i do not have the correct size driver. Can anyone on here tell me the proper size? I dont want to go to a hardware store with it and get funny looks if i can avoid it. Thanks

You don't want hardware store screwdrivers either... You'll get funny looks when folks see the buggered screw heads on your pistol.. You want gunsmith style parallel sided screwdrivers. Lyman makes a set with a ratcheting handle and 5 or 6 bits. I think it cost around 15.00 when I bought one a dozen years ago.

I have these and love em. There are probably some less pricey brands if you look around. You want "hollow ground" screwdrivers. Woodnbow is right. The hardware store variety will mess up your screws in a jiffy.
