Cabela's has the Pietta 1858's on sale for a reasonable price again. They have offered them for lower, but $199.99 is still less then the used ones usually go for on the auction sites.

Use promo code "34SHIP" for $5 shipping, or ship to their store for free, spend those cabela's Club points if you got 'em and get a Revolver dirt cheep or free

I think they may be trying to capitalize on the folks who think Tax Time is when the Government sends you money.

Wish they would do the same with the darn Pietta Colt Armies. The one I have is feeling lonely and I would like to feel more balanced with my gun belt on.

What's crazy is that some enterprising fellers break these on sale Cabelas guns down and sell the individual parts on EBay and gb for WAY more than the cost of the retail price of the complete unit.

You know that everytime there is sale at Cabelas they are still making a sizable profit. So what do you think the dealer cost is on a Pietta steel frame Remme with an 8
    " barrel?

Well I broke down and drove the 4 miles and picked up a couple of the on sale Remmies. I am thinking I might machine the grip bottom on one for my Navy Arms hammer screw detachable grip stock hook.

I just opened the boxes to check them out. The fit and finish is comparable to my two Pietta Le Mats both of which are just as nice or nicer than any of the Uberti Remington or Colt repros. My other 4 Pietta 1858 cylinders for my Pietta buffalos swapped in and out like they were hand fitted. All in all an excellent deal...only thing better would have been an additional discount like Thanksgiving last. Now I need to get me some fake checkered ivory grips or fake jigged bone grips...and couple of conversion cylinders.

Maybe I'll take my other unpainted brass frame buffalo and put its barrel on the blued steel frame of one of the new Remmies for another fantasy the Italians have not yet dreamed up: buffalo with a blue steel frame. I have only seen them in stainless barrel and frame and the more common blued barrel and brass frame OR maybe I'll just soak the buffalo barrel and steel blued barrel in vinegar to remove the finish and put a high polish on the steel like I did with one of my Rennie cylinders. Almost looks like thr s
