Yea I wouldn't have recommended a progressive to get started with since they do have the quirks and there is a lot going on that it can be overwhelming while you are trying to learn reloading process too. I would recommend that you measure most if not all of your powder loads until you get comfortable with the process. This does two thing it slows the process way down so you can watch every step and should you have a problem, like running out of primers but not noticing it immediately, ensures that all your loaded ammo has the correct charge. The biggest mistake a newbie can make is not clear the deck when a problem crops up, it takes a good knowledge of the process to be able to get back in sync otherwise. Hang in there and if you ever wonder if you missed something assume you did, better safe then sorry.
