Feminine firepower???
(sigh)
For some reason this thread made me reminisce back to grade school when the girls would bring in their Cabbage Patch dolls for "bring your favorite toy in day".
The more mischievous boys :D would kidnap them and play keep away with it while the girls cried in protest.

Get one just to piss off the antis.

They hate colored guns (claim that such guns are intentionally being painted "childlike" colors in order to obfuscate and make them look like fake kiddie"" guns).

Then again, they don't much care for black, OD, or grey guns either. Too military or tactical looking.

Those girls grew up to own pink Glocks.

Get her a pink gun. She'll be happy. THat's way more important.

Just make sure you can shoot REALLY tight groups with it at high speed. Then who's going to say anything to you at the range.:)

LG,

Just to chime in here:
I looked around online for you and found NOTHING in the way of colored Hogue-style grip socks. I'm in complete agreement with the fellas who've said she should have her own gun, and if a pink handgun will make her happy, a pink handgun is what it should be. My own wife has recently decided that she thinks the Sig X-5 is sexy. Personally I think they are greatly over-priced (although superb) pistols but if that will get her to the range often, I'm all for it.

(Of course if we get her that, the door is WIDE OPEN for my next purchase!)

Cheers,
B.

"I'm not sure the gun grabbers would agree."
They would say that pink is deadlier... the Brady center had a piece on how evil coloring of guns was... made them look like toys, thus children will get them and kill themselves/their pals/their cute little puppy/grandma/etc.

"
For years, law enforcement professionals have been extremely concerned
that toy guns look too much like real guns, putting young people at risk of
being mistaken as being armed. Now the reverse is true. Functioning
handguns and semi-automatic assault rifles are being altered with a
ceramic coating, making them look like toys!

Each year in America we hear of several incidents where a homeowner or
law enforcement officer mistakes a toy gun for a real one, and the result is
usually tragic. Many law enforcement leaders have called on the toy
industry to stop making realistic-looking toy guns. But now it seems the gun industry needs to be told to stop
dressing up real guns to look like toys.
"
And later on:
"
Another, harsh reality of this story is what children may do should they come across firearms with this ceramic
coating. Can you imagine a child finding a pastel blue or pink Glock, fully loaded? We have all seen the 60
Minutes story where the kids find the gun in the toy box. What happens when they find this “toy” gun in
Mommy’s nightstand drawer?
"

As for the topic, get it painted pink. After all, a real man judges people not by the color of their gun, but by the content of their character.

If it gets her into shooting, by all means do it. I had a girl that insisted on only shooting my cowboy guns. She thought they were more traditional and not as threatening to her. Whatever floats her boat.........Git-R-Done.

Luckily, my wife hates pink. Unfourtunately, she can't shoot a compact .45, so I had to compromise and buy us (her) a 9mm. Just be glad you are only compromising on the color, and not the caliber you wanted. Not that anything is inherently wrong with a 9mm, just making a point. Flame if you like.:neener:

I love my wondernine...

Whenever I go to the range there are always a couple of guys there with some very nice guns (as in cost way more than my Glock 17) and a lot of them shoot like crap. And there I am blasting away in the black. One guy shot a 12" "group" at 7 yards (about the same as my wife who had never shot the 17 and who hadn't shot in 2 years) and then was benching his pistol at 15 yards with just bad results. I think it was USP .40 Caliber.

What's the point? Doesn't matter what the gun looks like, he could have been shooting a $5000 open class gun and would have still been all over the place. I could have been shooting a Neon hot pink Glock 17 and still grouping well.

Think of it another way. If you have a pink handgun you are going to make sure that you are really good with it aren't you?

Hey, nobody google "pink pistol" or "pink gun" without you content filter on:neener:

I found a photo of Lordgibson as a child! I now understand why he hates pink:neener:

Or you could bring her back from the Dark Side and get her one of these:

Erik,

My buddy back in CA has a paintball gun with that finish. Eclipse Paintball called it the Aurora Borealis finish...pretty but relatively fragile.

All they do is take the slide and put it under a blow torch. I have several knives that I put that finish on.

Really, if a dude had a pink pistol at the range I'd assume one of many things were possible;
1. he is shooting his wife's gun
2. he is shooting his daughter's gun
3. he is shooting his gay son's gun
4. he likes pink guns
5. he is gay and likes pink guns
6. I want to see it so I can tell my sig-other about it, maybe she'll want one too!

LMAO!!!

See, Pink guns can look really good!

Sorry dude, no guns in that picture.
