I wonder if many THR members also use Pinterest. My wife asked me to create a board on her account as a wishlist for presents. Many of my wishlist pins end up being gun related. I was looking at it earlier and it got me to wondering how common Pintertest usage is among gunnies. A lot of people pin gun related things, but it often seems superficial. (Not that there is anything wrong with superficial interest in guns)

I actually was asked by my fiance to set up a pinterest wishlist board too and there are some guns on it. That's all I use it for.

My understanding is that pinterest is a site most popular with women. Guns are, from my observation, are mainly enjoyed by men.

Crossover isn't going to hurt our cause. The more obvious it is to the general public that a large portion of Americans own and are interested in guns, the more that people will realize it's an every day thing as opposed to something relegated by fringe subcultures.

In addition to that, much of the reason why women don't enjoy firearms is because it can be an intimidating field to get into unlike a lot of hobbies. By my view, Pinterest can be used to encourage hobbyists to join the community in a non-aggressive non-intimidating way.

I, for one, was unaware that Pinterest had firearms related things, and will be joining now.

There is a lot of gun stuff on pinterest. I don't use it these days but, a couple of years ago, I found gun related things all the time.

I have been surprised too. There is actually a lot of gun/knife/tool related stuff on Pinterest.

I have also been surprised by how many women on Pinterest specifically have boards related to self defense and firearms.

My wife uses Pinterest mainly for ideas for home decorating and whenever someone has a wedding coming up. Haven't seen much of anything there that would beconsidered gun related.

Nice board and I agree, more info out there for the public the better. They need to see that we are not the same gun people as the killers they see on the news.
