is there anything out there for clean plastic fouling out of a muzzleloader barrel?
want to keep my new cva stainless thumbhole in top notch condition?
Everyone who shoots blackpowder should have a can of Ballistol!!
Windex w/ Vinegar does the same thing and a lot cheaper. I've used both, but I'm cheap.Ballistol diluted with water (1 part B to 10 W) removes plastic shotshell wad residue from shotgun barrels used to shoot blackpowder shotshells. Spray it in, slosh it around, let it soak for 15 minutes, wipe it out. Residue comes out of the shotgun barrel by pushing a tight fitting wad of paper towels through the bore. Regular patches should work for a muzzleloading rifle. No danger to wood finishes, either. If there is a lot of crud in there, you might have to do it a couple of times.

Good morning guys;
I've been thinking about using a spray bore cleaner called "Gun or Bore Scrubber". My intention is to use it to spray into the bore and patch dry when shooting at the range between cylinder reloading and to clean trigger and other internal parts when a total disassembling is not convenient or possible.
I've used it for years on my cartridge guns, but I've never used it on BP weapons, as this is my first BP gun.
I guess my question is will it work good enough on BP to avoid corrosion and clean the gunk caused from shooting BP like bore butter or Mobil 1 etc?
How do you guys do a quick clean job on your BP pistols. Break cleaner is cheep and readily available but this other product is made to clean guns and doesn't do harm to gun finishes.
