I'm going to load up plated M1 Carbine rounds. They are completely plated from I BELEIVE Extreme Bullets. Do I need to load these to Cast bullet specs, FMJ specs, or something in between? I have searched ALL over the Internet, and am totally confused by what I see. I'm going to use IMR 4227/W296 with .308 110grn plated, trimmed LC pull down cases, primer flash holes uniformed to 7/64ths. The more I search, the more confused I am...:banghead:

Most information for plated bullets tells us to use data for lead bullets or starting to middle load data for FMJ bullets. I would start at the starting charge weight for a FMJ bullet and work up until you find a accurate load and stop there. (but stay near the middle charge weight) If you have a Chrono it's even better. (velocities usually below 1400 to 1500 fps)
