I'm looking for the best price I can get on plated 9mm, .40 sw, & .45acp bullets. I'm interested in 5-10K of each. Does anyone know of a cost efficient source for purchasing in quantity?

Rmrbullets.com is another good source. I've never looked into 5-10k of one bullet style so I don't know how RMR's prices compare to others when talkin about orders that big. But when it comes to smaller orders I don't think they can be beat. Good service and fast shipping in my experience. The owner is also a forum member here, longdayjake.

X-Treme and RMR, used the two and are great. X-Treme is running a 5% off and $5 shipping right now but beware the shipping is very slow. Not with them getting product out the door but they have some deal with UPS that can take 9-10 days. RMR ships USPS priority mail so its two days.

Rainier, Xtreme, and Berry's are in a good price range. But that depends on where you order from. Example: If you buy from Berry's and spend over $75, it is free shipping. If you buy Berry's through Powder Valley, you pay shipping, but their prices are lower per bullet, and as you buy more quantity, your cost per bullet goes down.
As with any purchase, you'll have to shop any compare total cost.
BTW, Armscor bullets, I believe are plated, even though they list them as FMJ.

Is anyone loading the xtreme plated bullets at high velocities? Any issues? Are they thickly plated?

Last year I purchased from Frontier Bullets in South Africa when the market was real tight. I have yet to load any up but they look good and the tolerances were better than some I had snagged from Berry's during the same time. Even with shipping from SA they averaged 15% cheaper than Berry's. I see now that they are wholesale only. You may want to check into them or one of their distributers.

I use RMR and Xtreme. I have had very good service from both. RMR has extremely fast order processing and shipping. Xtreme is usually slightly cheaper and will have an occasional blemish. RMR are always perfect unless sold as "seconds". RMR also has random deals on pulled jaketed bullets.

I think you will be happy doing business with either of these companies.

Why plated bullets? You can but jacketed FMJ and JHP Zero Bullets from Powder Valley for the same price or a few dollars more. They have 9mm, 40 S&W and 45 ACP bullets in stock right now. I shoot Zero jacketed bullets and they are uniform and accurate for me.

Because I just ordered 2k 180gr 40s&w for $184 shipped. Powder valley wants $227/2k for 180gr Zero's plus shipping. Also Xtreme has a Round Shoulder FP bullet for the .40 which feeds very well.

180 grain over 13.5 grains of AA#9. I think there's almost a full grain beyond that in the book, but I'm not sure off the top of my head.

For Berry's and X-treme mix/match: http://www.tjconevera.com/index.html

Not for 9mm, especially if a high volume shooter. I use the Zero 125gr JHP (traditional ogive) and really like them. These are and have been scarce as hens' teeth for a very long time now. I'm starting to run low. Zero shuts down the 9mm production periodically to re-start the other caliber production. This year it's been down for a long time and sells out fast when the do finally show up.
With many 1000s of plated 9mm bullets/year the savings can be significant even using all 'thick plated' versions, depending on your budget. Some of the Berry's and X-Tremes DO also have good consistancy.
Just saying
