We just got a camera at work that can do slow motion, so of course we want to use it for gun videos :)

Literally we just set it up on a tripod, aimed it and hit record, then took a few shots with a 1911-22 and an XD9sc. The 1911 is in 210fps and the XD is in 1000fps.

Going forward we are looking to actually use the camera for serious purposes and showing the workings of various firearms etc..

HERE is the video.

Does the faster frame speed affect the picture quality? In a video demonstrating the mechanics of the firearms, it'd be cool to have the camera a bit higher than the gun; looking down toward the ejection port so that you can watch the next round getting run up the ramp. It'd also be cool to see the 1911 in the faster frame speed so you can watch the hammer fall.

Cool vid!

Yeah the first and third segments of the video show the quality and size degradation, but then this is the $130 model of the camera and Casio has better more expensive ones that do better.

We are actually going to do a 1911 from all the right angles at some point, and add it to our PowerPoint we use for our Basic Pistol class, so many students dont understand the slide going back etc...

Well to be fair, the 1911 is a 22LR version, not the full 45. Going to try a 45 with a lighter load, enough to cycle it reliably etc and see how it looks.

Good video.

Did you notice that you were lifting your finger off the trigger during the reset? :)

How about a rapid fire vid using multiple guns?

Thats an idea, got to take baby steps first. Priority one will be to make something for the NRA class that shows a semi-automatic going through all the motions so students can understand them better.
