Pleasantly surprised.

A S&W 1066 I got as substitute standard because I couldn't get a Witness 10mm before the Kaliforny drop-test extortion law went through. It has proved to be an excellent gun worth every dollar I paid for it. I still want a Witness, though. That's unlikely to happen, as they are not listed with the Kali-DOJ, and no-one here seems to want to get rid of theirs.

The Glock 32 that got ordered out of frustration due to a lack of success at ordering 4 or 5 other things ahead of it on my list of "Gotta-get-it's" has proved to be an amazingly great gun. Before then, Glocks were very ho-hum, ugly, and unimpressive. This is one of the few guns I've purchased brand-new, and it has elicited no regrets for it's not insubstantial cost. In fact, buying the G-32 has convinced me to get a G-29 since they actually exist in this state, and I STILL can't get a Witness 10mm. I just wish the 29's cost a bit less.

The MAS 49/56 .308 conversion has proved to be an excellent rifle, despite it's French origin. Cheapest full-power battle rifle available at the time, it's accurate, reliable, and easy to shoot. I prefer it over pistol-grip guns like the FAL, and I couldn't afford an M1-A.
