To me, the kid looks more worried than confident, hence the original text. OOOPS - forgot to edit the URL. Edited now.

nice image!

Honestly though I like your original "honor their trust" verbage better -- more direct, less "whiney" voice. Otherwise -- to my mind -- it comes across as more pouty "dont take away my toy" than a serious issue.

Failing that, wondernine's (first ;) ) suggestion is good..

Any mother will defend their young with fang, claw, and their own blood. Why not you?

Sorry, Oleg, but I've got to say the pleading expression on the little girl's face rubs me the wrong way. I have no trouble imagining leftist extremists sighing, "Oh, that poor little girl!" and more to the point, I believe we have no need to ask anyone's permission or request any favors.

I'd rather see the child smiling happily, contentedly, and securely: she knows she's safe, and knows, as well, her mother will keep her safe no matter what.

That reminds me... where's the website where you can get the t-shirts and mugs with Oleg's prints on it?

Phooey. I was hoping you had some coasters with your art on them. The Target ones are OK, but they're no Oleg.

I'd like to see a set of 4 or 6 with different prints on each. I need one for my office.:D

"This we'll defend" or "Worth defending"

or

"If you won't defend her, who will?"

Good photo, but to the mentally ill (hoplophobic) it could look like some sort of ransom demand with the kid being held by the "bad person with the gun".

Safe in her mothers arms

Basic instinct

Gun, $400
Training, $250
The ability to defend her child…priceless.

No chance of a "get behind me while Mommy takes out the trash" kinda photo Oleg?

I don't care for the idea that children equate gun possession with violence (or threat thereof) in any way, even if said violence (or threat thereof) comes in the form of protection.

Nice composition, though.

All good, but I do like Nightfall's suggestion, throwing "For the Children", back in their face.

It's kinda becoming MY mantra.

Perhaps (like I'm one to offer Oleg suggestions :uhoh: ) if child were to be looking upwards at mom's face (offscreen) with a confident smile...??? in lieu of hands in prayer mode... but whaddaIknow?

Adios

"Please send Mommy some money so she can get a decent concealment rig." My poor attempt at humor...

While theyd go great with other pics, some of the captions listed dont go very well with the girl's expression.

How about one where the girl has a straight face and the caption says "My mother can portect me, can yours?"

Got the idea from this pic:
goodparent_s.jpg

It took me an hour to find that pic? Time for bed...

these are rough thoughts, but hopefully good ones...

a inset picture on the upper left of a child shooting a .22 at the range with a parent giving advice, caption says "this is the .22 rifle my dad bought me so i could learn how to shoot when i was xx yrs old."
another inset picture on the upper right of same child, a little older, again at the range but with a handgun, caption says "this is the pistol my parents bought me on my 18th birthday."

the background image is of the parents, with holstered sidearms, caption says "these are my parents, and just some of the tools used to keep our family safe."

like i said, rough thoughts... you know, on second thought, something along these lines would make great flash work. who runs flashbunny.org? i'm sure someone here has pictures of being taught by parents how to shoot, maybe some of them hunting, etc? could be used to tell a life story.
