Please help me select my next powder

Power Pistol also gives a good light show!! Enjoy the flames! It's a great powder, but I don't care for the loud report out of one of my compensated barrels - wow, what a flame thrower that is!

sellersm, thanks for the encouragement. I have already loaded up 6 loads (5 rounds each) with PP and just need to make the time to take it to the range. No compensated barrel for me, but looking forward to the experience.

I don't load .357 Sig, but I do load .40 and 9mm, both of which perform absolutely stellar with Longshot, as you already know.

A couple of other powders that perform very well for me, and perform similar to Longshot, is HS6 and Blue Dot. I haven't loaded with B.D. in quite a while, but I know I liked it. And I currently still load with HS6, it's a very capable powder for full house work in those cartridges.

GS

gamestalker, thanks for the information. I have had my eye on HS-6 for a while, but has not seen anything locally. Hopefully one day I will be able to pick up a 1 pounder and try it out. For now at least PP will keep me busy for a while working up loads in 357sig, 40S&W and 9mm.

Bullseye in .357 Sig

I actually had decent results with Bullseye in my P226 .357 Sig, you might think about testing some loads. My best group was Hornady XTP 124gr. with 7.0 grains of Bullseye.

KKyle, thanks for the information. I have been looking at trying out Bullseye, but could not find any load data for it. What did you use as your load data source when you worked up your 357sig loads using Bullseye?

I've recently started using BE-86 in 9mm after using Unique for a long time.

I really like the BE-86, I'm getting really good results from it.

Once I use up the rest of my Unique, I'm done with it. The BE-86 is much cleaner.

When you use up the PP I would say give BE86 or CFE pistol a try.
I have had good results with both. BE86 does have a something to suppress flash. No giant fireballs from CFE pistol as well.
Both meter well IMO.

ColoradoShooter77, thanks for the input. BE-86 has been on the top of my list to get, but it is very difficult to get locally to try out. I can pick up 1# locally for $37, which I think is highway robbery. Hopefully one day I'll be able to find it at a reasonable price.

Dudedog, thanks again taking the time to respond. BE-86 is still top of my list and I would love to get my hands on 1# to try it out. It would also be nice to finally join the BE-86 thread with my own input.
