OK here is the deal, I am spending to much money on ammo, so I am going to buy a 22LR rifle, I have pretty much decided on the Ruger 10/22 carbine or the Marlin 60. the whole reason is to save money so I can still shoot. I am trying to find used ones and I am having some success. Now here is where I need help. what is a good price for a decent ruger 10/22 and/or the Marlin 60. Any help that you would give is appreciated. thanks.

You'll hear talk about Marlin 60s selling for under $100 but I say if you find a nice one at even $125 you won't go wrong. If you want to hang a bunch of "tacti-cool" accessories on it then go with the 10-22. But if you want the more accurate of the two by far, get the Marlin. As someone said in a recent thread, you really can't go too wrong with any of the .22s out there today. Look around at used ones and if it's clean, make an offer. If it happens to be a Marlin 60, all the better for you. Here's an example, no reason to think you couldn't find one like this locally without paying shipping and FFL. Throw the scope away.
