Hidden inside an oven, the .357 revolver went off as Roxanne Perez began warming a meal in her South Side apartment.

The 29-year-old heard several shots, then felt a sharp pain in her left hip, a police report stated. She had no idea what hit her.
Yeah, right. Something doesn't add up here...

Several rounds cooked off, with the chamber lined up with the barrel going last.

I don't see anything fishy with the story.

If only the oven had a loaded firearm indicator...

I would be pretty STEAMED if someone decided to store a revolver in my oven without permission.

My mother's cooking is about like that. Too bad she wasn't heating up momma's meatloaf. Would've stopped the bullet.

God, can you just hear Rosie O'Dounut? "Thousands of people are killed everyday with ovens. THIS MUST STOP!" :neener:

Y'know I've set my oven to bake and to broil, but never to strafe.

And what was she using to cook the fish sticks? Smith & Wesson Oil?

Thank you, thank you, I'm here all week. Try the veal.

Y'know, guys, this is serious business. A woman got hurt, and it's likely that a friendship was ended. (I mean, if someone had done this to you, wouldln't you be pretty fried?) We ought to can these half baked attempts at comedy, and cook up some thoughtful responses to this situation.

I'm still wondering why on earth anyone would hide a gun in a OVEN! The article should have covered that, because I'm sure the police must have grilled him about it.

It all boils down to this, really: An oven is not the same thing as a range.
