Over the last few weeks, The High Road has evolved in an undesirable direction. To focus us again on the primary mission of THR, which is the promotion of responsible firearm ownership and related civil liberties, we would like to tighten the rules for General Gun Discussions and Legal & Political forums.
General Gun Discussions is, as its title suggests, reserved for gun-related topics, as well as new member introductions, mutual emotional support.
Legal & Political is for discussions of legal aspects of weapon ownership and civil liberties. Anything centering on religion, abortion, homosexuality and other topics which have reliably generated flame-fests over the last year are prohibited. Despite our hopes, these important but contentious issues simply do not get discussed in a civil manner. The best way to get around that exclusion is to open a forum of your own, that would allow such topics.
Threads which start out in violation of these guidelines will be locked. Post which take legitimate threads off-topic may be deleted so that the original discussion could continue. The interpretation and enforcement of these rules is at the sole discretion of the moderators. Any disagreement with their actions should resolved by PM or e-mail.
