I'm looking at a Creedmore, or a Jim Owens. Any feedback on these, or any other scope stand. My club uses the Giraud but they are expensive. I like the Creedmore cause the scope is set about 7 inches from the stand and costs about 170.00

I've been researching this but surprisingly don't find much feedback or reviews on scope stands.

Thanks

Ray-Vin and Creedmoor seem to be the most popular. The Ray-Vin offers the single hand adjustment which some love, some hate. I've been very satisfied with mine and they're good folks to deal with.

Creedmoor big blue hands down. i have heard the jim owens is really poorly made. I use a big blue.

I've used Big Blue and Ray-Vin. I like the price and portability of Ray's stand. He now has offset scope mounts that get the scope out over your arm, next to your eye.

One thing I have noticed at the shoots I go to, the scopes that have one inch tubes on their stands seem to be more stable when the wind is blowing, when I get mine that's what I'm going for.

Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking of the less expensive Creedmore, not the big blue. Big Blue looks very cool, but it's also over 300 and the standard model is more like 160.00. I'm pretty sure the stand and extentions are the same, just the heads are different.

The regular creedmore still has 7.5 inch offset from the extention. I can always upgrade the head later. They all seam to be 1inch now anyway.

I really like the Giraud they have at my club, but those are 275.00 plus and there is no offset from the extention.

I have had several guys at the highpower matches mention they wish they had a offset one from Ray-Vin.

i have been using a kinda crappy one. i don't even remember the brand. i sorta inherited it so i can't complain. still... scope stands are not where i'd elect to spend my $.

To be honest, i only use it when scoring (sitting in a chair) and shooting prone. So my scope is always near the bottom of the stand. Wind is not a problem even with the crappy stand.

this year, i'm going to shoot mostly 600/1000 yrd and i don't even think i'll bring the top two pieces of the stand to the range.

1 of the ranges I shoot at has pits where the targets are pulled, scored and pegged so I can see where the stand will not be absolutely necessary. But the other range only has the targets up and if you don't have a scope and a stand you can't spot your shots at all. You need the stand for sure. I have a small table top one I've been using for prone, and sitting but it's not useful for standing.

I use what I think works for me. I love and use the giraurd stand but have the ray-vin mount and quick detach on it as I believe it give me the best of everything. Ray can set you up on it if the get the giraurd.

I'm relatively new to the sport (so take it for what it's worth), but I bought a heavy duty Freeland stand from Champion Shooters. The one recommendation that the guys that I shoot with gave me was to find one with a 1 inch diameter rod to reduce movement.
