Please Sig Sauer owners...

Maybe there aren't many suggestions because most of us are happy with the factory triggers?

I have a P228 that I bought used. It has a super sweet, smooth trigger. I'm guessing it had a trigger job done to it, but of course I have no idea where.

I'm reallly thinking about going with that powderriverprecision.com or Gray guns for lack of a better option.

Sig Sauer's custom shop is too 'basic', if you will, for me.

What exactly do you consider a better option?
Go to sigforum.com, where many of the people live Sig and have multiple investments in guns, and do some research.
Gray has been considered number 1 by many for a long time. If you talk to any of the named gunsmiths and can explain to them what you desire, I am sure they can tell you what they can do for you.

LOL, believe me rogertc1, i've googled, yahoo, binged, etc. the sh*t out of a good gunsmith or trigger jobs for my Sig Sauer and for some reason I don't turn up many options.

This is why I need you guys.
But since the start of this thread, and with everyone's help so far, I've found 4 reputable gunsmiths/custom tuners new to me aside from Sig Sauer's custom shop.

Still perhaps many THR members who have not seen this thread who has valuable info. This is a mass sold gun like glock and 1911's; starting to seem a bit ridiculous of the lack of aftermarket work.

perhaps. I mean I can shoot good groups as it is but there's always better and at further distances, and to me, it all starts at the trigger provided the sights are close to accurate.

My bet is that most folks are saticefied with them as they come.Myself, quite happy.

I have no problem hitting 12oz. soda cans at 100yrds two-hand no rest. Not every time but with regularity...say 7 out of ten shots are hits.Keep in mind this is cheap U.S. man. ammunition not high grade or reloaded fodder.

At 50yrds I have no problem running drills,3-shot groups DCM on multiple targets.25yrds no worries 2chest 1head. All at speed.

I am very confident that experienced shooters and especialy those that us SIGs can do this with ease.

Other than removing a very small amount of over-travel and, perhaps, some take-up,I absolutely love the new SRT.

i am calling BS on wanta B. more like wanna B

sorry but your post is just blantant BS.

you want to see reality just let me know and i can post pics of the matches and scenarios we run at AST.

if you can hit soda cans with a short 4 or 5" barrel and semi auto pistol with iron sights at those ranges, then you belong on an olympic team. i also shoot silhoutte and with a very upped single shot with custom 6mm loads from a 16" barrel and custom sights I am getting close to the accuracy you speak up but from a prone supported position and with a match gun, not some generic mass produced semi auto pistol.

pure BS by wanta B

Olympic team,hardly.Good shooting sure.Amazing,no.

There are several folks at one of my favorite ranges that shoot as well or better. One gentalman in particular that shoots a Browning Buckmark that can get nickle sized 5 shot groups at 50yrds.Granted many of their handguns have been modified but my accomplishments are not magic, just practiced and I got a good pistol. No not all come out of the box as good.I've had bad ones that had very poor accurancey. Also I did not say that I shoot cans at that distance at speed.

Singleshot handgun hunters quite often make kills at truely amazing distances...There is no shortage of literature and testimonies to that effect. If you have a weapon as you discribe, soda cans at 100yrds should be quite possible.

I suppose you have never heard of any long range hunting clubs...Granted rifles but talk about skill.Again not magic.Skill and good equipment.800+yrd one shot kills, you bet. See LongRangeHunting.com for one...

Perhaps some more range time is in order.Aways fun and it is always nice to send lead.

this is off topic, but I was an m24 shooter while in the service and have attended several matches at palma and still do f class shooting at several ranges here in AZ.

range time is not needed for me or any other person I shoot with. either you are claiming to hit soda cans at 100yds with a pistol or you are claiming with a rifle but are posting in a pistol thread. what is it? if pistol then I am still claiming BS. if rifle then you need to get more practice shooting. should be 100% at 100yards.

Fine, call BS if you wish. You,youself, have mentioned having a SIG that came with two barrels...One .357SIG is a lazer the other .40SW is minute of barn.
I was fortunate enough to get one that needed no such services as this thread is pertaining to.

You shot M24s,I shoot cans at 100yrds...We can play gun store commando and look at eachother as if listening to fishing stories all day. Completely unproductive. I,for one,am here to discuss how to refine and progress.Agian as this thread is pertaining to.

You have my apologies for barking back... However, continue to call BS if you must, for I stand by statement:cool:.

lol, you guys.... Really, 100 yds semi-a pistol? At that range your sight picture would pretty much cover up that little spec that is your soda can. Are you sure you've gauged the distance correctly? I sometimes make that mistake too and underestimate the yardages.

Any other people out there that know of any other reputable Gun smith/custom smith.
Still haven't shipped my pistol off to any one for work.

We can scratch Bill Springfield at triggerwork.net. Already talked to him, and his work offerings are rather 'basic', almost too basic. He only smooths and polishes.

SirAardvark took the words right off my tongue. Haven't had nything done by them but, if my sigs ever need work that's where I'll go.
