The rivalry between my SIG Sauer and Heckler & Koch.

I had a West German P220 that choked on everything. The classic P22x Series guns never won me over. The trigger was "meh". A Beretta 92FS is much smoothers and has a far better reset.
Warning Will Robinson! Fanboy alert!

Well, there you go -- proof that this world is entirely subjective.

I've frankly never heard of a W German P-220 that "choked on everything." Betting most reviews over the past thirty-odd years would reflect the exact opposite. And a Beretta trigger better than a SIG? (Here I was issued the M9 for many years and found its DA pull frightful.) Seriously; the SIG's DA trigger has long been touted as one of the best DA pulls in any semi-auto. Your opinions here seem quite contrary to the mainstream, but again, we've gone down the subjective rabbit-hole... and opinions probably based on very small sample sizes (i.e., sample of exactly one).

Meh, like I said; my P220 choked. Played with enough P225s, P226s, and P229s. Didn't win me over, My P239 is fantastic though and the SRT kit in it really makes it great. And yeah, I like the Beretta trigger more. Spent plenty of time behind one. I also am more of a fan of the S&W 3rd Gen trigger too. :neener:

Most people that claim a SIG trigger is superior never really played with a slicked up Beretta or S&W.

Yeah, the fancy extra cost variants. A regular SIG isn't. I recall when Miami Beach PD adopted the P229 in .357 SIG the issues they had with rust from the humidity and salt in the air. Meanwhile my agency's issued GLOCK had no issue.

Actually they did not cost any more than the other Sigs (about $1000 new). I have 8 p22x variants (along with 8 more non-p22x models  ) I only have one 'plain' p226 that started out as a .22lr and was converted to 9mm. That one was less expensive and shoots both calibers ($900 all in). The rest are Elites, Legions, etc. The LEO refurbished used ones were about half the price of course (around $500). The two refurbs I have have the best triggers of any of my pistols. They are all more expensive than Glocks but, hey, you get what you pay for .. (flames on)

Here is one of the refurbs that has since been upgraded with a Legion p229 RX slide. It was originally a .357 Sig then a .40 S&W and now a 9mm:

They cost more for a agency....

Also, while H&K is very innovative, making a large selection of military firearms, they have lagged in the consumer space. They have no answer to the modern high capacity micro compacts from Sig, Springfield or Glock. Even S&W has recognized a need and filled it with it's EZ series. Ruger with low cost, reliable compact LCP and LCR's. My view of H&Ks offerings are pretty much the standard top line pistols. Even Walther has dabbled a little outside this niche with it's compact and target variants.

GLOCK doesn't have a micro nine by today's standards and neither does S&W. HK does have a subcompact to compete against the G26.

Perception is realty in most things and certainly applies here. IMO I like H&K and like all things not perfect but close to 100% after I send and get trigger jobs done. Which I have done on 3 out of 4 of mine. Sure wish I could shoot them more, damn lack of primers.
