Any one care to comment on the quality of PMC .223 55g FMJBT ammo?
I'd be using it in a mini 14 and an "AR" type Bushmaster. Can't help but notice the stuff is less expensive. Good for me cause I need plenty of range time ( I'm still pretty new to shooting ).
So is this stuff an exercise in frustration or decent for use at the range?
Thanks to all,
Bill

Nothing wrong with it. As always, your gun may like or dislike it.
Is your mini a new one or an old one? I have an old one and it's rate of twist enjoys light bullets. The heavy stuff gives terrible accuracy. I tried many rounds (including PMC) but the most accurate was WWB 45 gr JHP varmint load. Comes in a "value pack" of 40 rounds at wally world. In the old days it was 13-14 bucks. Now about 23.
Buy one box of PMC try it out.

hey Evan,
My mini is a new one, the all weather modle. Pretty shore it's 1 in 9 twist.
I had it out once so far, ran about 80 rounds of Remington 55g through it with no trouble.
My groups weren't all that good, but I think it's mostly my eye sight and lack of experience. I need to shoot some more and see if things get better.

It has crimped primers so if you reload it, the crimp must be removed. It seems a little hotter than regular Win & Rem. I don't have a chrono so I don't know if it's loaded to NATO spec or not. No O and + on the case head. Good stuff and good brass.

I sure hope its ok. I stashed 10 boxes when the price was cheap, and ammo was disappearing off the shelfs. ;] Then again, my NEF to shoot really fast either.

cheaper than Remmy, and shoot probably a tad better out of my AR. Shoots about 2"-ish moa or so. I don't consider myself good, so maybe it could be a bit better.

ran about 400 rounds of it through my AR, didn't have the first problem with it, no complaints here! good stuff

The PMC bronze 55 gr 223 ammo that I bought does NOT have crimped primers. I've already reloaded 100 pieces of this brass, no issues. As far as the ammo goes, its ok for range fodder, I'm getting about 3" groups out of my mini-14, a new one. My handload's will get me down to 2" at 100 yards.

Nowhere near NATO spec, it's underpowered if anything...

Good range fodder, no problems as far as function or accuracy for me. I get it for 8.95 a box, wouldn't pay more than that. Most places I see selling it locally try to sell it for 10-12 a box, no thanks on that. I keep the brass for eventual reloading.

Privi Partizan is also a good brand to seek out...

I love my PMC bronze .223. Shoot it out of my Colt 6940 and holds Sub MOA. You can also get some good prices on it. I can a case of 1000 shipped to my house for $351 online, which seems pretty fair. Speaking of it, I got to get on it and order my second case.
