There is no "ammunition specific" forum to ask these questions in, so, I'll try this here. Today I stopped by the Rice Lake gunshow held in the Barron County Fairgrounds building, if only to be nosey to see what's going on with ammunition prices.
I stopped at one table where they had four boxes of .22 rimfire rounds and a sticker that read $5.00. I asked the lady who was sitting at the table knitting and looking sorta bored, what she knew about these. She seemed to think that it was $5.00 for all four boxes, of which I knew better 'cause they were still there. When her husband came back from getting him and her some food and soda, I asked him, and like I figured they were $5.00 per box, so I paid him for this ammunition:

I've shot PMC before and still have a few boxes in my stash, but nothing like these. And I was just wondering what anyone here might know about these rounds.

I bought a couple of cases of Sidewinders from the CMP twenty or so years ago.
The boxes mine are in are different. They are 40 grain round nose, high velocity and pretty accurate from my S&W 17 and Ruger 10/22. They do smell different from Winchester and CCI 22s.

I bought PMC .30 Carbine ammo long ago. Back then the PMC stood for a Korean sounding name, Poongsan Metal Corp., later it became Anglicized to Precision Made Cartridges.

It has always been decent ammo, even if not the strongest.

I recall my friend having and shooting these and was quite pleased with the accuracy from his .22 rifle. Other than that I have no other experience with them.

I liked PMC ammo, I never recall an issue with it.

During the last ammo hoopla I gave a brick of PMC Zappers to a co worker so she could keep shooting monthly rimfire bullseye matches. I think I still have a brick of some random PMC .22 stuff on the shelf, I’ll try to look for it tonight.

Let us know how it shoots for you when you get a chance, I’m curious to see if my remaining boxes shoot well now...

Stay safe.

I have never seen PMC rim fire ammo but have noticed that when ammo is in short supply, a lot of foreign ammo eventually appears on the market

I looked, but I think my PMC .22 is buried somewhere back behind a bunch of other .22 ammo. During my search, these were the only PMC’s I could find. All are centerfires...

About 35 years ago I did an accuracy test with the m-41 using tenex, federal, cci, etc. Out of 10 or so boxes the un-plated PMC was most accurate. The copper washed was just OK. I went back and bought a case of the 22sc942 unplated and used these for match ammo only.

That's encouraging to read. I'll see what these do out of my rifles. Thanks.

I tried the Sidewinders, and they were ok in the four .22 I tested them in just not great.
But, that's my .22s, yours are certain to be different.
My N66 seems to prefer the PMC FMJ loading.
My Mossy M44 prefers Agilla High Velocity.
And so on--every arm, but especially .22rimfire, seems to have a "happy place" for a specific ammo.
A bro and I went to the same store and bought the same rifle (on closeout, different days); s/n within 200 of each other. Mine was perfectly happy with Remington RNL; his was only "happy" with Eley TenX. He was less happy to be paying 3x than what I was.
That's life.
