I have a Colt Pony on its way to me, and I'm in the market for a pocket holster. This is going to mainly be a backup gun, but at times it may be my primary if I'm somewhere where I need an extremely small gun for concealment.

I prefer front pocket carry, mostly wear jeans. At times I may drop this into my coat/jacket pocket, so a holster that I can push off with a thumb would be advantageous.

Any suggestions/recommendations? I've contacted Lou Alessi for some info, but haven't looked too much further. I have an Uncle Mikes pocket holster for my little S&W revolver, but I think I'd like something nicer for the Pony.

Thanks!

Uncle Mike's, in my experience, doesn't hold the gun securely.
Our man Jason makes the best P32 holsters I've ever found and his page states that he'll make mini-Colt holsters on request.

Alissa is nice

I have an Alissa for my Colt Pony, and I love it. I have a hedley ordered for my autauga 32acp, so I can carry it in my front or back pocket. The Alissa I would recomend highly, it stays in your pocket when you draw it, and it doesn't dig in your side, because it has leather between you and the gun. I could report when I get my Hedley..Greg

RJ Hedley...

I carry my Seecamp and my Guardian in a Hedley back pocket model. (Two different holsters, of course!) Perfect fits. I've even used them in the front pocket of some pants like pleated Chino's, with deep square pockets. However, I too wear mostly jeans. The (ahem), "relaxed fit" model jeans. :) I've found that it's no trouble to wear either of my Hedley's in the front pocket. But if I was sure I was going to carry in the front pocket most of the time, I'd go ahead and order RJ's front pocket model for the Pony. Don't forget to order the "pocket spare mag pouch" that he offers with the purchase of a holster. They're inexpensive and a great way to keep the pocket lint OUT of the spare mag.

P.S. There's a place on his order form that ask's if you want any changes. For example: I have my Hedley's "anti-print" panel cut 0.25 inch shorter. I've found that a shorter anti-print panel works best in the back pocket of some brands of jeans. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. RJ uses some type of thin stiff leather. I've had my Hedley's for 2 or 3 years now, and they are still perfect. All I've done is polish them with shoe polish.
