Police: Man robbed after confronting two people.

ROCKFORD — .A Rockford man was robbed in his home after he went outside to confront two people who were rifling through his vehicle.

The incident occurred about 6 p.m. today in the 1000 block of Furman Street, Rockford Police Lt. Christine Bishop said.

The victim was led back to his home at gunpoint and his wallet was taken. The robbers are described as being both 19 years of age, black males, 5-foot-10 and 5-foot-8 with slender builds. Police are asking anyone with information to call 815-987-5824.

i wonder if he thought the two gentlemen robbing him would leave peacefully if he went out and asked them to?
we all know that works, right?:neener:
seriously though, sometimes people don't think straight. :banghead:

He should have left his wallet on the car seat so the nice young men wouldn't have to come inside?

What's so funny about peace, love and understanding?

Here's what's sad-funny: The idiots who preach that stuff as the universal reason to NEVER inflict violence on anyone, and to take away the tools needed to do so, fail to UNDERSTAND that there are some bad people among us who need to be FORCED to comply with the law and otherwise leave the innocent alone.

I'm all for peace, love and understanding. That's why I approved of Saddam Hussein swinging from the end of a rope. The sore losers in Iraq who continue to take advantage of a power vacuum also need to get what they rightly deserve. Bombing a religious building full of worshipers is LOW.

True understanding is all too lacking these days. After all, what IS to be done when diplomacy fails and duplicity rules on the other side?

Let's see:
If you go out to your car without a gun, you get assaulted & robbed.
If you stay put in your home, you get robbed but don't mind nearly as much.
If you go out to your car with a gun, you were looking for a fight and serve jail time. Presumably you get robbed while in jail because your vehicle and home are easy pickin's.

So, the only option is to happen to being taking your firearm to your vehicle to drive to the range so that you happen to have to defend yourself?

I sure wish we had the second amendment in this country.

He could have also grabbed a video camera or digital camera after he called the police. Probably could have gotten a good half hour of video waiting for the police.

His first mistake was living somewhere that says you can't have a gun for self defense. Illinois has no concealed carry whatsoever. I guess the thugs that were robbing his car must have been open carrying and he just didn't see it. We all know they wouldn't want to break the law. :D
