Blued just doesn't equate to "gentleman" in knives. Better to bring them to a high polish.

True to my glacial rate of progress, this was commissioned last fall, but I do like the results.

High polished 1095, walnut handles (stabilized) with black liners and stainless pin and thong tube.

This is a little larger than previous "Pocket Defenders" as the owner has larger hands and wanted a bit more purchase.

I'm always fighting trying to get good pics of shiny things, but this was interesting: the polish caught the reflection of a painting on the wall behind me!

Got the logo etching more or less figured out now:

And this came with a pocketable sheath with lanyard, but with eyelet rivets spaced for a small Tek-Lock should the owner want to belt-carry it.

Beautiful knife and looks very useful. Great combo of form and function

Glaciers may be slow, but they're thorough and grind the heck out of whatever they pass over. Often with lovely results.

Your results look to be getting better and better, so I guess you're at least not a receeding glacier ;).

I'd say keep up the good work, but one of you guys is going to end up costing me several hundred dollars one of these days :cuss:.

Sam that is really nice! Congrats on the emerging logo. The pin and thong hole look very well laid out, the grind lines look nicely done , the choil ( or lack of which is good too) is nicely done and the guard smooth and safe looking. The nice stabilized wood handle has enough flatness for good indexing and no twisting and as usuall you are really mastering the polish ! Nice you can adjust things to the customers desires, you will go a long way in this field I predict!

Superb product.

Make the other glaciers melt with envy.

The way you have the full width forward of the choil for 3/8" or so forming an integral guard is visionary! this would solve the problem of deep bellied drop edged blades having a narrow edge stopping the hand before the blade edge!
Don't get me wrong, Mr. Fowlers work is superlative, but I wish the Brut-de-forge thickness would have been carried from the top down about 3/8" or so in front of the handle before the plunge starts forming an integral guard as you did.Get it?
