Polytech M1A

Chinese manufactured M1A (M14) rifles had issues with the hardness of the bolts. It was recommended that the bolt be replaced by a U.S. bolt. I have seen chinese m1as being for sale at $900.00. I would save up more money and buy a Springfield Armory M1A.

I agree, I would spend a little more and get a Springfield. not to mention the great customer service and warranty. As for what one? I'd spend a litle more and get the standard Loaded. By the time you can out shoot it you'll be ready to bed the barrel for even greater accuracy.

The receivers are forged and made of excellent steel. I'd take a Polytech receiver over a Springfield at the same cost. Like already mentioned the bolts may be soft and headspace may be a problem but a properly fitted GI bolt will fix that problem. If I could get the Poly cheap (including the cost to replace the bolt) I'd go that route, otherwise Springfield is a safer bet
