Porting on a .38 J-Frame snub

What are your thoughts on a ported J-frame for carry?

I have absolutely no experience with ported barrels, but I would think it could affect velocity and accuracy on such a short barrel. Also might blow crap in your unprotected eyes in a defensive situation.

What do you wheelgun experts say?

My thoughts are that it would be freakin' LOUD!!!!

Can't imagine why someone would want to port a snubbie. There just can't be a logical, practical reason in the .357/.38 world.
