Just want to see if anyone in the Portland metro area is on this board. :)

Btw, I am most likely going to be at the Pink Pistols meeting on Sunday, April 6th, at 4PM at McMenamins at Mall 205. If you live in the Portland area, you know what I'm talking about. :)

What, you're gay? You like Terminator Stout? What? ;)

All kidding aside, they're a good group.. they do more for this straight guy's gun rights than the NRA does, that's for sure.

N'kay

I'm from Aloha and I don't have a clue what the Hell the "Pink pistols" are... enlighten me???

I think the Pink Pistols would allow the public. Do a little research first if you are one of those 'easily offended' folks though!

Easily offended, me?

Roflmbfao.

Thanks for the concern, Dude, it's nice to know that people care enough to caution others if they think they don't have all of the facts. This is not meant to sound as smart a$$ed as it does, but is meant with sincerety.

I don't have all of the facts, but I am a big boy and can go home anytime I want. I am also fairly tolerant of diverse lifestyles.

Thanks again.

Did anybody else catch the article in the Oregonian on the Pink Pistols? Was it last Sunday or the Sunday before??

[Editors Note, the following comment is meant PURELY to poke fun at The Oregonian and only the Oregonian.]

I wish I could have been been in the room when the Oregonian editors were discussing the article.

Ed. #1: We can't print that, it's about guns!
Ed. #2: But it's also about <people practicing an alternative lifestyle>.
Ed. #1 But it's about guns!
Ed. #2 But it's about <PPAAL>
....Repeat a few times.....
Ed. #1 and #2: Arrgh, I'm so confused. Let's sing KumBayYah, chant over our crystals and see if our spirit guides can give us some guidance.

That's probably verbatim what went on at the Oregonian.. that is, if they weren't too busy burying their faces in Vera Katz and Mark Kroeker's backsides.

jhisaac1: I work over off Wynooski by 219.. any places to shoot around here?

MMcCall - Are you at the mattress place, the garbage dump or SP Newsprint?

I shoot over at Chehalem Valley Sportsmans Club in Dundee. It's on 9th (turn right) and then about 2-3 miles down the road on the back side of Crabtree park.

Over towards Tualatin is the TriCounty gun club.

That would be the mattress place :)

I'll check out the place in Dundee.. it would be nice to have a place to shoot at lunch or whatnot, but it's not worth a huge membership fee like Tri-County.

MMcCall

http://www.cvscgun.com/ is the web page for the club. Do you live around there also? The club is locked with no public access except on IPSC match days (match access only, www.teamcroc.com) or before hunting season for rifle sight-in days in the fall.

Maybe one of these days we could get together and hit the range. The yearly fee is $48, there is an entry fee of $20. (?)

One thing I like about Pink Pistols is that they are about self defence. The NRA is about saving your over under 12 guage.

While you're in Dundee, stop at Johns (sp) they have incredible food, huge portions and decent prices.

Im out here in Tanasbourne area (hillsboro).

Im working, otherwise I'd show. Not really any gun groups have 'meetings'. I like the idea.

The food is pretty good at John's, but the wait for service is awfully long. They moved from the tiny restaurant on one side of the Hwy. to the other side into a new and not-much-bigger restaurant. Makes no sense and I usually pass on by.

Yeah, the wait can be long and the service is spotty. The best time to get there is Sunday morning while most people are still in church.

Their chicken fried steak and their goulash is almost worth the wait.

I'm up for it, I always like to meet new folks to go shooting with. I can bring an Imbel FAL, an Ruger SP-101 .357 and a ParaOrd P14-45. It would have to be in a few weeks though, because my wife and I are super busy right now. Let me know.

A sunday morning thing sounds good, but in a couple of weeks.

About the Pink Pistols meeting this weekend, my wife reminded me that we have plans for dinner with some friends that night. Maybe next time, keep us informed.

Well, 4/19 is the FAS shoot in Chehalis, not to mention Easter weekend, so how about the 26th? I'm willing to coordinate. RSVP to the email address in my profile, and I'll take it from there.

I can contribute a couple pistols and I should have my VEPR by then  not to mention I've been drooling over FAL's lately.

Sunday AM is not good for me. Saturday AMs are much better and also after April. But then I assume that the world doesn't revolve around me. I don't want to rain on the parade, but when you are pondering places, remember the membership part of the equation if the designated spot is CVSC in Dundee. Anybody else a member there?

jhisaac1

It's 3 guests per member, so if it's going to be in May sometime, I may have my own membership by then. How long does it take for that process?

The 26th is a no-go for me, visiting people on that day. The following Sunday is doable though. Do we have to go to a range or is a trip to the national forest or private land an option? I much prefer shooting in the woods.
