Possible to co-witness Troy BUIS with ACOG?

Simple question, only asking because I don't have an ACOG to try it with...

With Troy Industries rear sight pushed all the way back on the rail to the charging handle, and either a 3x or 3.5x ACOG pushed all the way up the rail as far as will allow the BUIS to flip up, can I use BUIS with the front sight?

You can't really co-witness iron sights with a magnifying optic. Only works with a non-magnifying optic like an Eotech or Aimpoint. Hope that helps.

+1 -- even if you can get everything lined up to cowitness, the maginification of the sight will prevent cowitnessing.

First of all, why would you want to? Second, from the one ACOG I looked through, it seemed like you had to have your eye touching the damn thing to get a full sight picture. While all the models will be different, this one could not be fully utilized with something between your eye and the eyepiece.

Back to my original point, what could possibly motivate you to try an co-witness with an ACOG? I can't really think of a benefit.

I was just curious. I figured I wouldn't be able to due to the magnification.

I can, however, co-witness with an Aimpoint, right?

You can absolutely co-witness with an Aimpoint.

Either full co-witness or lower 1/3rd co-witness.
