I am still very impressed with the bushings in these grips. I guess I am mad at myself because I never thought of this neat treatment. As some of you may know, I am still in the Six Gun Business and have seen these bushings in two piece Six Shooter Grips many times, but never thought of using them on a 1911 grip. One thing that I do to 1873 Type grips is the when we change them from Two Piece to One Piece, I have a little spot of turquiose put in the empty hole in the bushing to make it look a littler neater. The effect is very pleasing to the eye. Also, we could save 1911 grips that have be ruined by too much tight on the grip screws. I would like to know if these are a one shot deal or can we buy these somehwere?
This is a rough idea of how they turn out. Another Captain Eagle Neat Trick! We made a Silk Purse out of this one. I had an antique satin nickel finish applied afer I tweaked it and we made the Eagle black buffalo horn grips from Raj look really neat.
