Just about as classic as they come, Remington Rand

Like good-looking women, there's something about good-looking 'set' of wood grips that a man never tires of.

Classic indeed. Many people still mistaken that beautiful and classic 1911 as a Remington Arms product. The history behind that model is historically fascinating.

I quite agree :)

Maybe if Ruger had publicised (more) the availability of wood grips, they may have continued to sell sufficient of the earlier P-series to still include them in their price-list !!

These grips certainly elevate what looked like a quite ordinary pistol, to something that looks rather special !!

I'll be the weirdo to say that I really don't find any to be more attractive or classy than others. The opposite is somewhat true, though... Some just look flat-out terrible. LOL... But really, all respectable makes and models are pretty equal in my view. My general preference is for all black or unusual coloring. For example, I really like the "Copperhead" and "Lady" Sig Sauer P238. Out of self-respect, I'll not purchase the "Lady," though. ;)

If you like different colour combinations, you might like my 1911. It's a Nighthawk Custom Predator II.
