Potent OC Spray for my mother

I am looking for a good, potent OC spray I can get my mother for Christmas. She often walks the dog at night, with no phone and no means of protecting herself :banghead:

Some minor crime has been happening in her local area, and all these stories she is telling me are beginning to freak me out. She won't get a gun and 'wouldn't use a knife' and I would feel much more content if she had some spray.

Any suggestions?

(I realize this subject has probably been beat to death, but I am looking for something that will damn near incapacitate anyone trying to do anything to her. I love my mama )

Depends on how tough she is. Does she eat alot of spicey foods? Heck, women squeeze kids out, I doubt a little pepper spray will bother her.

Huh? Oh, um you don't mean using it on her?

Still look into Fox labs. Nothing is fool proof, but I was around when someone let one of these off in a windy area amd it cleared out in a hurry.

The Saber OC and most of the other big names on the market would be fine. You are looking for two things really, range and number of available shots.

I like the Fox Labs product as well, and that's what I have for my wife to carry (in addition to her gun, her knife, and her attitude problem... My wife is like a one-woman army, and I'm scared to death of her).

We are required to carry Sabre product at work. Personally, I don't really like using pepper spray in a LE capacity due to the near certainty of cross-contamination (I have to spray the guy, then wrestle the guy covered in spray, then stick him in the back of my car). As such, I haven't sprayed people too many times in my career, simply because I would rather go hands-on or use the Taser. Nevertheless, I've seem mixed results with the Sabre product, not unlike other sprays. Sometimes it knocks the wind right out of someone's sails, and other times it just pisses them off.

The stuff certainly burns like hell, and kept an angry Chow from taking a literal piece-out-of-my-butt last month.

Yeah...I've now been pepper sprayed five times (for training)....just gets better every time. Look for something with 5,000,000 SHU's or more (Scovile Heat Unit) We carry it on our PD and it's very effective. Or look into getting her a TASER
C-3 (civilian version of the police taser).

The new Pepper Blaster from Kimber is easy to use and carry. If it's for home use why not have a big old honkin' can of bear spray.

Fox Labs makes some of the best (hottest) sprays in the market. It's what I carry on my duty belt and what I gave to my daughter to carry on shopping trips in rough neighborhoods.

I just bought my mother inlaw the four oz Fox spray. My father inlaw recently passed away and she wanted something just in case. She is 80 and a firearm is out of the question. She might shoot the paper boy. I got the large size as it will be easier for her to hold on to. No flip top as she might fumble with that one. Fox makes some hot stuff.

I got Fox labs for my mother-in-law. it works pretty good. keeps her down long enough for me to run to a safe place.
