Just finished of the last of my Varget.Looking for something better can you recomend a powder for 55fmjbt in a 20" AR? Looking for decent range ammo, cost and availability is a factor Thanks.

Get some Accurate Arms 2230 and don't look back.

If you decide to shoot bullets weighing 62 grains or more...use Reloder 15.

Varget is a bit over rated...its AWESOME for 68 grain and heavier bullets, but Varget just ain't all that good for the lighter bullets IMO.

I'm using Varget. But all the suggested powders look good from my reloading data. Also, RL 15. I have had really good luck with RL19 and RL 22 in my magnums. RL powders are pretty easy to measure, and I don't want to trickle for a semi-auto.

BL(C)-2, TAC are some others.

I saw Varget last night at range for 28.95/lb!

It's too bad we can't buy powder in in 1/4 lb containers. The more experimenting, the better.I have experimented a fair amount(there are quite a few mostly full containers on top shelf of loading bench),but I have to keep buying more H335.

Here are what I use albeit I don't have a ar mine is a bolt gun.

748 for cold weather

Benchmark never did any good with this.

My current load is 24.5gr 2015 with a 50gr v-max.

WCC844 from Wideners or pats reloading its what the Millatary use its close to H335 about 10% hotter.
