Powder Horn

I bet you could heat it in an old micro wave… I have an old one out in the shop I’ve used to heat small pieces of wood to be bent and used for siyahs on static recurves.

That is a beauty Gary! I love the concept.

I would experiment with using colors to dye epoxy to close to the same color and then patch the holes. Those are too nice to discard. Tempera paint powder can be found at Hobby Lobby. I have done this before although not with powder horns and it works.

Can #2 be sawed off, the plug reduced to fit, and savaged or would that make it too small?

I really, really hate to discard something that I can dream of a way to save.
I found epoxy die on Ebay.

Crazy Crow Trading Post has an article on heating horns. link From the link here is the key information:

The first step is to heat the horn to between 330 to 340 degrees Fahrenheit for about 40 seconds in order to make it plastic and moldable.

Hey Miguel, does the smoke shop need more of my cards?
We still have some......but if you're in the area, you can always drop some more off. We've got a fairly new gun guy named Larry. If you haven't met him you should He's a great guy.

I truly don't remember it being this expensive, for the whole kit!
Mixol Universal Tints are the most concentrated, highest quality tints on the market today. They are compatible with most water, solvent, lacquer and oil based stains, coatings, shellacs, epoxies, waxes, varnishes, wood fillers, etc... Ease of tinting or mixing is often cited as the main attribute to Mixol, along with the "sophisticated" color palette. The oxide-based colors are made from inorganic pigments which make them color-fast, fade-resistant and weather-proof. These oxide colors are ideal for exterior applications, or where UV fading may occur. Mixol tints are not flammable or hazardous.
