Powder Keg

Many years ago a friend of my dad's had a powder keg. It was a wooden barrel. I've never seen one before or since. I was curious if they are still made, or maybe this was some surplus he bought from some where. Just curious about it.

Bulk powder is now being shipped in large plastic sleeves that pack flat.

If there is a copper sheathed 38 gun frigate tied up at the Navy yard, there might be a few laying around.

I remember reading that smokeless powders are shipped in 55 gallon drums and some broken down into smaller 5 gallon "buckets". I've not seen either and wooden powder kegs are waaaay before my time...
