Hi, new to reloading. Seen doing a lot of reading with different books etc. More I read the more confused I get (or I'm probably just over thinking it). Trying to figure out powder and burn rates. Correct me if I'm wrong but burn rates depend on gun and barrel length? So if someone might suggest idea's on powders please. I'll be shooting a Henry Mare's Leg Colt 45. (12.9" barrel length).
I picked up 500 rounds of 250gr. and in various books/receipe's all had these powders listed. The books list powders from a rating of 9 to 33.
Some examples in book:
700-X - burn rate 8
Tite group - burn rate 9
HP-38 - burn rate 20
Unique - burn rate 24
HS-6 - burn rate 31
