I'm in the Midwest so buy most of my supplies by mail or at Cabela's in KC, but they never seem to have the powder I need, mainly Benchmark and Varget. Have any of you seen the supplies in the midwest get any better? I have seen a better supply of my favorite Sierra bullets, so I now have a good amount. By the way, bought the bullets from Midway by mail. Better price and delivered to my door. You would think that with Hodgdon being just a few miles away, I could get some powder, but no such luck. So, have you all seen the powder supply getting any better??

I am in central Mo, not having a big improvement with varget or titegroup. I have been seeing increases in IMR products. Oh and 231 is still a ghost as well

Things are getting much better. Cabelas has had primers in stock for quite a while now. Powders are getting more and more available as well. I hope that trend continues! Now I hope .22lr comes back soon

Still sparse in Phoenix but starting to get better. Some things occasionally, as opposed to never.

I am also seeing things a bit more frequently on the inter webz. ;)

Went to a smallish show in eastern NC yesterday. I even took a heavy duty bag figuring the pickings would be awesome.

Nope, without doubt the spring and early summer shows had much more powder. Primers were in good shape, but powder wise, I came home empty.

I just don't know.

I thought so.

I went looking for 3 powders this week and came back with about 5 or 6 I sort of wanted in addition to the 3 I was after.

I think we are still in the hit or miss stage but I have another about 6 months supply.

Seems to be getting better but favorite powders such as Unique or WW231 are non existent. Have to hoard my Universal clays as a substitute for Unique instead of using it for shotshells.

Interesting. Unique they had so I picked up a pound even though I had 5 lbs at home. It is a common powder for me so what the heck. I don't do 231 but they had it in two places here in Houston.

Seems like it's getting a lot better for some here in CT. 231 is still a freaking unicorn, but bullseye, power pistol, and a few others are popping up. Nothing in bulk yet. Also, plenty of primers. One LGS has had SPP on the shelf for over a month now. At fair prices.

The Cabelas & Scheels in Omaha are still a little sparse on powder but have a pretty good stock of primers (Cabelas more than Scheels).

A local GS has always had pretty good selection of powder (including Varget) and primers through the whole "panic". I think they were rationing their selection until the supplies loosened up a little.

I don't know whether things are easing up, but I know that I've been searching in a lot more places, and I have scored 8#s of both Bullseye and IMR 4064. So I'm feeling better.

Wish I could see an easing up here in east Idaho. I've been trying to find Longshot, WSF, Silhouette, and WST. Been a month now with no luck at over a dozen stores. About the only thing on the shelves are a few rifle powders.

No problem with 22LR. Walmart has been getting supplies regularly so it's been helping to keep the price gougers down.

Bullets and primers are easy to come by too.

If you're picky and absolutely have to find Varget or Benchmark you may be searching long and hard for it. Bullet Hole in Overland Park sells a lot of Hodgdon powders and pre-panic they had prices that rivaled Powder Valley. From what I understand they've still been getting a decent supply in but they've also been "gouging" from what I understand. That's all hearsay as I've disliked The Bullet Hole for years due to other reasons and don't go there oftern, but if you're desperate you might check it out. There's a shop in Claycomo MO that I was working by a 2-3 months ago. They seemed to get in a steady supply of various powders at prices comparable to Cabela's. It might be a bit of a drive for you but it may be worth checking out if you're desperate. I can't remember the name of the shop right now but it's on 69 Hwy. I personally picked up some H4895 there and it was the only place in town I could find it.

Just ordered a mix of Alliant powders from Powder Valley. Looks like ALliant is cranking stuff out. Hodgdon seems to be behind or its going elsewhere, as I can never find any 231/HP-38, H335, Varget, ...

IMR4064 is the only one I use regularly that I haven't been able to find. If I could find an 8 lb jug of it right now, I'd let the kids go without eating for a week or two in order to pay for it.

That shop in Claycomo, is it Show me Shooters, about a few blocks from the Ford plant?

I was just at the Cabela's in KC today and they had both 231 and Hp38. I picked up a few pounds of H110 and some Win 748.

Back in April I bought a pound of Varget, CFE223 and H4350 from the Bullet hole, in untypical Bullet hole fashion they were not gouging on the prices...Eric

Primers are back, and powder is in better supply than it was, but still not where it should be. I didnt find any of my favorite powders, but I did find some powder I COULD use to load 223, but not much info on it (accurate 5477). So might be askin yall about experience in a week when I start loadin em :D

ski2me, there is plenty of longshot and wst at Third Generation Shooting Supply if you can order enough to make the haz-mat fee worth it.

That's it. I would have never stopped in there as it's pretty far out of my way, but I was doing some work at the Ford Plant back in early July.

I doubt the 231 or HP38 will still be at Cabelas by the time I have the cash and time to stop in, but it'd sure be nice to get some.

Like I said, I have been looking for and asking about powders in many new to me places. I learned of a shooting club out in the country about an hour away from my home so I decided to take a drive over there. Met some nice fellas there, and one said he knew a guy who had some. So a few calls and another little drive scored it for me.
