I just picked up my new Interarms Walther ppk/s 380 acp. After firing about 15 round through the gun, my indicator pin ( the pin just above the hammer that lets you know if a bullet is chambered) became loose. Now if I tip the gun back the pin slides out freely as if a bullet is in the chamber. Has anyone one had this problem or suggestions?

The pin is spring loaded. Your spring is either missing or broken. Not hard to replace. If numrich doesn't have what you need ( new style ) google Earl's repair service. He is a full service Walther rep.

This task not gunsmith-worthy. But if you ever run into a situation where you need one (and the S&W folks, who represent Walther in the USA, won't work on the Interarms guns at all, at any time, for any reason), here's a gunsmith who will work on the Interarms PPKs:

You should like the PPK/S. Interarms made a fine gun for a long time.

Mine (Interarms PPK) has been doing that since the day I got it new! :cuss:

I have put the spring back onto the indicator pin several times and it comes off just by racking the gun.

Now that some of the above posters mentioned where to buy new springs, I may try that.

It's more of a nuisance than anything else. Always treat the gun as if it were loaded!

I edited out the post while I checked out something on the gun.

That indicator spring cannot come out unless it is somehow installed wrong. The spring is placed on the rear ("long") end of the pin with the spring extension forward, then the rear of the pin is tipped down in the slot, extension down toward the top of the slide. Push the pin through the rear hole, and grab it with pliers, then push the front of the pin down and let it go forward into its hole. Since both ends of the pin are captured by the slide, there is no way the spring can come out, besides it is held in place by the firing pin and the safety..

The spring does not come "out". The forward end of the spring that sits in the groove of the pin keeps popping out of the groove! The spring then puts no tension on the pin, causing the loose pin to just slide back and forth, sometimes indicating a round in the chamber when in fact there isn't.

Like I said, you shouldn't rely on the indicator anyway, treat all guns as loaded unless you physically check it.

So the pin needs to be pulled out towards the rear and the base of the pin needs to be pushed down and released to reattach it to the spring? Also how do you go about removing the firing pin on a ppk/s? Do you have to go through the rear sights by removing them?

To remove the firing pin, the slide must be removed from the frame.
Set the frame aside, and everything is done from the slide.

After you've done it once or twice, you can remove and replace the firing pin and the indicator pin in about 10 minutes. And that's taking my time so I'm sure it goes back right.

You can do it, just follow the owners manual.
