Ok, I asked about pocket holsters but have decided that the PPK/S is to heavy for that style of carry and I have decided to go IWB as the primary means of carry. Right now I have an Uncle Mike's #1 IWB holster, but I need something better, maybe even something with a hammer strap/thumb break of some sorts since I want to carry with one in the pipe, safety on, in DA mode. Something thin but strong would be optimal.

Any suggestions? I don't want to spend to much (Nothing over $40 would be nice). Thanks!

E

Don Hume has a good IWB no thumb strap needed and why would you carry with that horrid safety(decocker) on. A PPK/S is safe to carry hammer down ready to go Its made to be carried that way. The fireing pin is blocked. That the advanage of the DA, for first shot. They are not a 1911a1 and can't be carried locked and cocked.
Oh, the holster is around $30 + shipping .Go to their web site and check out .I wear mine almost every day unless I carry my 1911a1 then I use my DH pocket holster for a PPK also about $30. Both are leather not man made what ever.:D

Well, I have had it in my pocket and, well, it looks like there is a giant gun in my pocket. I don't need some person freaking out and calling 911 or something because they think I might have a gun in my pocket, plus it pulls my pants down on one side with the weight. I know some people carry the PPK/S in the pocket, but I am not sure if I really want to or not... still giving it some thought.

Denfoote, do you use an Uncle Mike's #1 pocket holster?

E

Well, if I tighten that belt up any more I will cut myself in half! :D

I could have sworn the PPK/S fits in a #1... thats what my IWB is.

PS... just looked on their web site and it is a #2, they don't have a #1 :uhoh:

It might!!!
They only had a #2 when I bought mine and it fits as you can see!!
It's not a tight fit, but, that's how I like my holsters. I don't want to have to tug to hard on the gun to get it out, in case I need it!! ;)
With the PPK, there is little chance of it going off in your pocket due to the horrendous trigger pull!!!!

As touching the belt. Proper thickness and width is just as important as length. Ideally, it should be at least 1.5in wide and about 1/8th in. thick, minimum.
It should be the next size up from what your waist is. It has to go through the loops of the holster!!

Remember, if you are going to carry IWB, then you have to have extra girth to accommodate the pistol!!

For pocket carry, you have to get pants with pockets big enough. I usually wear cargo pants or shorts!! This design suits CCW quite nicely

Just as an aside, have you ever wondered why gang punks wear baggy clothes???? Pack'in da gat!!!

Never thought about why those punk a**es wear baggy cloths before... now I know its not always a fashion statement :)

Most mall ninjas probably would have a heart attack if they only knew!!
That's why I take the advice of a local radio talk show host here in the Phoenix area when he said, on the air one day, "Why the :cuss: do you think they call it a CONCEALED WEAPON for God's sake!!"
