I've got the opportunity to buy an early Interarms import blue PPK/S. Looks new with Made in Germany rollmark on slide. The Interarms rollmark looks like an older version. I've had a couple PPK's (all SS Interarms) with mixed reliability. The gun looks %99, comes with box, second factory mag. and instructions. $350. What do think?

If it passes a function test, is 99%, then $350 seems a very good price. I'd buy it if I wanted a PPK/S. FWIW I have one already.

I would buy in a min. Then I would order new recoil and hammer springs (stock Lb) from Wolff. Give a good cleaning install new springs and enjoy. Interarms for me have always been a relieable pistol. I would choose one over a S&W PPK/S any day.

Thanks for replies. I put the gun on layaway. The idea being I want to bring in a couple of guns as trade potential. The shop has a range, so I'll try it immediately. I wonder if changing the FP is a "project"?

Why change it The hammer spring is simple 10 min job and recoil spring well tight end goes on first. See no reason for any thing else unless broken or wore out.

PPK notes

If you have feed problems with it when you try it, may I suggest you try some of Cor-Bons' "Pow-r-Ball" ammo thru it? Solved my feed problems and was great CCW load too. I owned two Interarms Stainless PPKs: one ran on anything and the other didn't even after a throat job by a gunsmith you'd recognize. Even so, I think I'd jump on this deal in a second.
Cheers, TF

I find that FP springs are often overlooked. I got used to changing them in Colt 1911's, (pre series 80) as a safety issue. I believe the PPK has a hammer block, but I don't know if the FP is retained with saftey on.
