So, about two...maybe three...years ago, I bought a 500 rd case (in a 50 cal ammo can)of PPU (Privi-Partizan) M2 Ball ammo. It's essentially a replication of the WWII/Korean era 30-06 M2 cartridge for use in M1 Garands. I fired about 50 rounds of it then stored the rest.

Today, I found that some, not many, of the cartridges had green copper corrosion/discoloration on the projectile jacket and in one case, all the way down the side of the brass. Of interesting note is that the only ones to corrode/discolor were the ones stored in canvas riggers' pouches or in cotton bandoleers. I pulled 2 boxes (40 rounds) out of the sealed ammo can to reload empty clips, and none of that ammo had anything on it.

All of my ammo is stored in the same metal locker (cabinet) in my garage where the average humidity is usually less than 50% (It's currently 31%). I don't feel any moisture in any of the pouches. None of the the cheap-o Korean mil-surp ammo I have, all of which is stored in cotton bandoleers immediately next to the PP ammo, is corroded or discolored. None of my other ammo, albeit all stored in ammo cans, is corroded or discolored.

Has anyone else seen this either with PPU, or some other brand, ammo?

The powder is breaking down seen that in some rem 243 ammo I had the powder was even clumping up they were in original boxes.
The pouches will cause corrosion to outside of cartridges.
Any hint of green or blue around bullet or primer on my stuff had bullet bases corroded just like that when pulled.
Edit
Sorry i thought those pics were from OP.
I have had bullets corrode from being stored in bandoliers both cotton and nylon ones with others that were fine I just unloaded them all.

Take them out of the bandoleers or pouches, and store them loose in the can with some desiccant. Whatever they’re treated with is reacting to the metals in the cartridge case or bullet.

Stay safe!
