Ok...bought a lot of ammo...and plan to use it up...

12 gau......2-2/3...... 7 1/2 shot..... this would be my practice ammo...but... (I plan on using 00 buckshot for HD).

Question...if I had to resort to using 7 1/2 shot for HD at the distance of 10 yards...how effective would it be?

it you aimed for the face, shoot twice, then take 8 steps closer and shoot in the face again, you would surely end the fight

First, I assume you meant 2 3/4?? Not a big deal, just noticed. The way I see it, 7 1/2 would certainly be better than a rock. 00 buck would be a lot better than 7 1/2.

So, if my choices are a rock or 7 1/2 I'll take 7 1/2. If my choice is 7 1/2 or 00 buck, I'm going for the 00 buck.

In this case less is NOT more... more is more.

Just my thinking. You may arrive at a different conclusion.

I'm sold on the idea of 00 buckshot for HD. Of course, 00 beats 7 1/2 any day.

But...my question is in the general line of... will 7 1/2 penetrate the bad guy's clothing? Would it have the same stopping power of a .38 handgun at the distance of 20 feet?

Will a 2 3/4 inch shell with 7 1/2 load penetrate drywall?

7 1/2 shot at that distance doesn't spred much even with imp cyl barrels. Most all the shot would be on target if aimed center mass. what more do you want. Try it on paper targets sometime, it tears them up.
