I’d believe having issues with Kershaw, as I have had a sharpening issue with ZT, which is part of Kershaw. Now small parts I’ve gotten with no issues for my Kershaw knives. Maybe it is a matter of cost, I don’t know.
That certainly doesn't sound like the response everyone else has gotten from Kershaw. Strange.
I'd recommend dropping it in a mailer and sending it to them with your return address inside. If they run true to past practice they'll send it back with the blade replaced.
A lot of folks here swear by the Leek. I found them on a close out sale once at my base exchange for $20 (down from $60) and I bought the last 5. I really liked them but I kept breaking the tips. I broke 4 tips before I quit carrying them.
I sent three in and got new blades three times. On the third time, I specifically asked for a different knife and said I didn’t care what they sent me, as long as it was made in the US, but I got another Leek back.
The 4th broken tip I just threw in my glove box the way it is. It’s still sharp, just missing the last quarter inch point.
And for anyone thinking maybe the original knives I bought were from a bad batch, I broke two knives that Kershaw sent back.
I’ve given away a couple of them as gifts, but I’m certainly no Leek fan. But I have zero complaints about Kershaw CS.
I do have other Kershaw knives that are pretty solid, but the knives I generally carry these days are either CRTK or Buck. Affordable and durable.
