Don't get ahead of yourself, first of all just take it apart and give it a good cleaning and make sure it was put together right. Post pictures if you think you see a problem, there's folks here that can steer you right.

I bought a sight unseen revolver on gunbroker and some one has performed a trigger job and well the single action will fall with hammer in cocked position when lightly touched. I am thinking a new hammer or trigger is inn order but I have not had gun apart to inspect which parts are afflicted. Will the listed parts work for the pre models?

Pictures of your firearm will help including the hammer both cocked and uncocked and the trigger to identify the model. Sometimes a serial number will help with the last three or four digits left off depending on how many were made as that can help set the date of production so that parts changes can be noted. Without such, sometimes Numrich aka gunpartscorp, sends you the correct part, sometimes they don't which can happen on firearms variants out of production for a long time such as pre model 27's.

Sometimes the parts are new old stock and generally have to be fitted, the older it is, the more likely that you have to handfit which is best to use New Old Stock aka NOS parts rather than used parts as those, unless they came from a matching revolver, might not quite work. For all I know you go your own gunsmithing and have a complete setup, but this situation is a safety issue and might be better addressed by a gunsmith. It might just be something minor but then again might require fitting of parts which requires the proper tooling and technique to do right.
