Precision Air Rifles - Where and what to buy?

FPgt72,

Yes you get the 10/10 deal when you order the special scope setup. I called and asked if I should do the 20/20 deal and have them sight it in, but they said no, they do that on the R1s anyway so the 10/10 is good enough.

Fedex tried to deliver it yesterday. They will drop it off tomorrow. I paid the exter fee for adult signature only since I did not want it left on the door stop.
I usually have them just leave it, I live in the boonies so I don't really worry about that anyway....I think I live in one of the few areas in the US where I leave my keys in my cars.

I just ordered one of the little Crossman pistols, with my upcoming surgery I will not shoulder a rifle for a few months....but hopefully this will take care of my issues.

The pistol will take care of the itch to have some trigger time. Over the long weekend I bet I shot about 500 rounds.....had great fun.

By the way, I ordered the rifle and a copy of the R1 book yesterday.
You should enjoy both of them, especially the rifle. My first springer was an .20 R1. Very nice rifle--I still have it.

It showed up and I have to say it is smaller and nicer than I expected. From the reviews online I was expecting something similar sized to my M1A's or Garand but no, it is a nice handful and easy to carry around. I can't wait to try it out.

I did note that in the 10 for $10 package it says that the mean velocity with whatever pellet they used was 1002 FPS. Not bad for a new rifle.

Something that wasn´t mentioned yet are Swedish FX rifles.

They offer a variety of high-price, high-end guns in calibers between .17 and .30, even two semi-auto models and one model that allows to swap barrels for shooting _arrows_ :what:. Haven´t shot one myself, but the reviews I´ve seen so far are very positive, seems to be good quality and fun.

Airguns were of no interest to me due to heavy regulation over here - you could only get extremely power limited versions until a few weeks ago. But now one of our national shooting associations created events that open the door for high-power, long-range airguns. So I´m a newbie in that field, but the FX models are the first thing I will take a closer look at.

I´m in no way affiliated, but only discovered them by chance. As their style and approach is a little different from what you normally see, I think they deserve a little more attention.

I have looked at them, and actually think that the Independence is the way of the future. Spendy but then the cutting edge is always expensive.
