so im putting in the order for my first press and kit tonight
http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=423081
and just want to make sure that i have this all figured out.

i am planning on:

these dies http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=251154

these bullets for hunting http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=468031

these bullets for plinking http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=2046467736
these brought up another question: i have read that to shoot lead bullets i a micro grooved barrel (marlin 336), they should be slightly over sized by about .003, so is this correct that the .311 diameter hard cast should work?

the info on the kit said that i would also need one of these http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productnumber=432027

i already have my brass, and i will be buying powder and primers from a local guy to save the hazmat fee.

so is there anything i missed? if there are other things that i need i would like to keep it all from the same site, or if it is a common item i will probably just pick it up at scheels the next time i visit.

comments and opinions welcome!

That looks like a fairly complete set up. Your choices of dies and bullets looks good too. The idea to buy powder and primers locally makes the most sense, especially since you'll want several powders in the smallest containers to experiment.

A shell holder usually comes with the dies, so read the details carefully. Buying a 6" caliper for measurements will let you keep things consistent. You'll also want some way to shorten the rifle brass.... a "trimmer".

Walkalong, it's in the kit. The old Lee (almost) "everything you need" ploy...

Kit Includes: Challenger Breech Lock single stage press, 3 Breech Lock die bushings, a Lee Safety Scale, Perfect Powder Measure, powder funnel, lock stud and cutter, a Lee chamfer tool, primer pocket cleaner, a large and small Safety Prime and a tube of sizing lube. A Lee Case Length Gage (sold separately) will need to be purchased for each caliber being reloaded

so what do yall think? throw in some powder and primers and im good to go?

also am i right about the size of the lead bullets being correct?
