What type of Price do you Pay at Gun Ranges, Private or Public.

I know some Clubs are approx $800.00 dollars a Year Membership and then $15 dollars a Hour for range time.

Would you Pay this for your own Private Range? Or stay with a Public range?

$800 a year plus more per hour? :barf:

I use a public range indoors, for $9 flat for the whole day. Otherwise, I go out to the desert for free.

Price varies considerably, one indoor range I like has a membership program, $30 for membership and then $4 to shoot, that's per session, not per hour, pretty reasonable. A new indoor range opened up which was a lot closer to me, much more convenient, I called and asked about their fees, membership was $125, that entitled you to shoot for $10 a session, he didn't get my business! :barf:

The state wildlife dept has a public range about 40 miles from here, you only need a hunting license to shoot there, I'm planning to use them as much as possible this year.

I'd pay that to own my own private range. The public range I go to, usually isn't very full, except right before hunting season. Sometimes my dad and I are the only ones there(Except for the range guy). Spend that $800 on a new gun.

Due to my student status I pay 50 dollars a year (normally 100) for a 200 yard range, 8 or so other ranges. I usually am at the plinking range or the shoot anything range. I know they have IDPA etc and I think its a great deal.

My range (a private club) has dues of $60 per year with a requirement to work 8 hours or pay an extra $80. There is no daily fee for members, stay all day till the ammo runs out!

We have separate ranges on 70 acres; a smallbore (rimfire or airgun) out to 100 yds, a pistol range to 50 yds and the main rifle range with distances from 50 to 200 yds and there is a line at 600 yds for blackpowder and military shoots. Even have a archery range

American Shooting Center:$6 per shooter w/one gun + $3 per xtra gun. Shoot all day 15-35yd pistol, 50-500yd rifle.

Livin in Texas

Most expensive club I belong to is $60 per year, $6 for a day's shoot. The others are $25 per year (one does have an initial fee for new members) and $6 for the day. And these clubs are in the San Francisco bay area!!

Coal Creek Armory of Knoxville charges $10 per session.

A yearly membership is $100, with unlimited range time included in the price.

Seems fair to me, that's why I bought a membership. :D

The club range just raised the annual dues to $60 (no other fees).
Excellent outdoor range for pistol, rifle and shotgun.
Just renewed my membership but I haven't been there in 4 or 5 month.

I have a 40-50 yard range in the back yard and a 100 yard range in my woods so I don't get to the club range too much but I shoot at home every day or two.

I've been using a public range out in Garland for awhile. I paid $10 for the card which "expires when you do" and $10 a session last time I checked.

Membership+range fee

$75 Yearly Membership and $12 range fee each time I shoot. Range fee is good all that day. There are other Membership deals but this is what I use. :)

I'm just frequenting public ranges right now but I'm going to look into a private range. The public ranges that I'll go to charge about $8-10 until your ammo runs out. One particular range that is very nice wants $18.95 or $13.95 if you buy their ammo. I don't go to that range. ;)

The range I frequent is open to the public, eight miles up the canyon from my house.

They charge $11 for the day, and have handgun, shotgun and rifle facilities.

the only reason i have ever went to a range is for a class. other wise i go up in the woods for free and have more fun, i can go four wheelin' at the same time

My local club (a two minute drive from where I work) is $100/year and no hourly fees. There's an additional $110 and 8 hour work requirement for new members.

My local range is free to the public, no lock on the gate, 6.5 miles from home.
We quickly learned to get there early, for both a good bench position, and to avoid the "Noids" who arrive later after sleeping off the night before.
We "regulars" help keep the newbies honest, and are pretty much "self policing". No shooting accidents in the ten years I've been going there.

My local indoor range charges $8 per visit. They also have a large sample of loaner guns for use at no charge(just buy their ammo). The safety officer is also willing to go out of his way to help with any problems or questions. The outdoor range is free.

Closest indoor range is $6/session, no yearly. The closest outdoor is $50/year, no session fee. Another is $70/year, no session fee.

Red's in Austin, TX charges $300/yr membership and no charge for range time for members. Otherwise, its $12.50/hr for non-members. It is an indoor range. (has a north and south range, BTW).

Our range (indoor) is $150 a year for membership. That gives you free unlimited range time and free gun rental. Daily range fees for non-members is $18 per lane for the first shooter and $9.00 for each additional shooter on the same lane. Thats unlimited time, all day if you want until 10 PM, 7 days a week.
