OnTarget in Maryland is $150 for a membership which grants you unlimited range time, or you can pay $7 for the first half hour and $6 for each additional half hour (or something like that).

Anybody know anything cheaper in the MD area?

"I know some Clubs are approx $800.00 dollars a Year Membership and then $15 dollars a Hour for range time."
yeeeOUCH!
Nice converted public forest land range, with nice covered facilities and steel-target ranges - ~$115/yr. Flat. Or $11 / visit.

Private range, $150/year unless you participate in 2 "clean-up" days then it goes to $100. Outdoor, shoot 24 hrs if you want to. Shoot bow, pistol, rifle (including .50BMG) and machine gun. I was shooting my Uzi there today! :)

Belonging to a private club has it's benefits. I pay $125/year and have full access 7 days a week. trap range, 2 pistol ranges and rifle out to 200yrds. Plus a small camping/cookout area with river access for fishing. Free use of club reloading equipment too. No way would I pay a membership fee plus additionsl usage fees. :neener:

The more I read about some of these outrages prices being charged by gun ranges / clubs, the happier I am with my club.

$105 per year is inclusive of all fees for shooting rifles or pistols. A round of 25 Clays is about $3
There is a 100yd covered rifle range. There's also a 25yd covered pistol range and multiple clays ranges.

Range access is 7 days per week with self imposed shooting hours from 0900 till dark.

$100 first year member $80 a year after to keep,or $80 if you
are a first year member and are buying a weapon at the same time.
No range fees show up at opening and stay till closing. Now have to
buy your ammo at the range since somebody with their own home
handloads did a kb and said it was with ammo he bought at the range.
Range is for pistols only,indoor.

The two range organizations that I belong to are:

Sage Pistol League and RGRA (Ridgecrest Gun Range Association), both of which have a $25/year membership fee.

All day access.

$12/hour at an indoor range in Lakewood CO.. though if it's not busy and there are lanes available, I don't think they enforce the time *too* closely.

The three ranges I pay to shoot at.

1) The club I can hear with my computer room window open-$80 a year, one time building fee $100. This range is handy and has good people shooting there.

2) The club that I shoot IDPA at 45 miles-$80 per year and a one time fee of $100. This club is a hike but is more geared to to comp then the first and has good people also.

3) The commercial indoor range I shoot at most, 12 miles and $200 year. This range is convient as it has electric target movers but many of the people working there are jerks, although alot of the shooters are good people.

Respectfully,

jdkelly

One indoor range I shoot at 35 membership per year and 8 per session.
Another indoor range I shoot is a flat 12 per session
One out range I belong to, has a work requirement and fee structure for passive membership. It works out to be 45 with work commitment done.
Another outdoor club is 8 hours and 60 bucks.

My range at Houghton is $20 for the school year membership, and free lane time AND free gun rental :)

My range at home is free. Last I checked, I wasn't charging myself to shoot off my back porch :)

The other range at home is $15/hr. They don't get much of my business. Its a nice range, you can shoot anything up to and including a 50 BMG (who would want to at 25 yards?) and full auto. The only no-no's are AP and tracer.

I like to go the San Gabriel Valley Gun Club which is in Southern California. They are at this moment fighting the city to stay open due to complaints from residents about the noise.......something they were well aware of when they purchased their homes. The range has been there since 1947 I believe.

I was on their membership waiting list for years and when my turn came around recently I got a notice that the initiation fee was $500 and the annual membership fee was $200....for a first year expense of $700. The letter had no explanation of what was actually the benefit of being a member. I had to pass on that offer. I just pay as I go there. $8 a day on weekdays and $9 on weekends I believe.

My range is a private club. $50 initially and $50 a year after that unless you spend 12 hours helping clean/repair/paint and then it's only $25.

If you sign in and out when your there shooting they total up your range hours and give you credit towards the yearly 12hrs, so I spend as much time shooting as possible :D to keep my dues at $25. No additional fees, 3 minutes from home and a bunch of nice guys/gals.

I go to the south Red's in Austin like T-man during the week when I don't have time to make it into the country. $12.50 per hour like he said.

On the weekends I prefer to go to the Austin Skeet and Rifle club that is in Manor, TX, about 15 miles from Austin. $6 per gun, no time limit. Very roomy and not cramped like Red's. It's outdoors and on nice days it's perfect.

The range I frequent is $8 for as long as you want that day. If you have more than 1 gun it's $12 which is still cheaper than the other ranges within reasonable driving distance.

Anybody know of any outdoor plinking ranges in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area?

$95/year, unlimited access to all outdoor ranges (pistol, rifle, pins, tactical) from 9 am to sunset. $1.75/round for skeet. Archery range and an indoor range I don't use much.
Nice folks and 20 minutes from the house.....I got lucky

$75 renewal per year. No range fees.
Indoor pistol range, outdoor rifle ranges 100 & 300yd, a 25yd plinking range as well as 2 trap and skeet ranges.

My dad's club has to be the best deal I've seen. It has a multistation, covered 100yd range, a trap and skeet field, and IDPA/IPSC/plinking range for $20 per year, with no range fees.

Dietz's Range in New Braunfels, TX. - outdoor range with 25-yard pistol range, rifle range with 25, 50, 100, and 200 yard positions.

$9.00 for all day ($7.00 for NRA members)
$60.00 for a year membership

What rritter said. The only negative of Dietz's range is you have to be careful to not step in any cow pies while walking downrange to re-set the targets. :neener:

Pistol and rifle range (up to 200 yards) is $50 per year. Guest membership is required to bring someone on the range, also $50 per year and only one guest at a time. Skeet and trap are also available. This includes bow range also. SASS, military shoots and pistol shoots cost a little extra.

Coal Creek Armory is $100 yearly, unlimited, with a 10% discount on ammo and a free hat(!), but hell, I shoot for free there.

Every day.

J.
