Hi,

I just ran across a 4" model 14 dan wesson .357 at my local gander mountain for $250. The gun has a wonderful trigger pull, but the finish is pretty beat up (60-70% remaining). $250 for a solid 4" .357 seems pretty good deal, any input would be appreciated.

It isn't a bad deal and dan wessons are nice guns. If it seems sound mechanically go for it. Your right it is hard to find a decent 357 with the finish in any condition for less than 250.

That's an excellent gun if it's mechanically ok. Make sure it locks up tight. Being a Dan Wesson it should lock up real tight. These guns are unusually accurate and very strong.

I agree it's a pretty fair price, but when I worked for cabelas I saw a lot come through that were near 100% for 295 +/-. Just found a 4" model 14 on gunbroker for 295 that is 100%. Granted you're talking another 50 for shipping and transfer fee, but my point is that it is a fair price, not a barn burner of a deal.

Buy it now

I have several Dan Wessons and like them all. They are excellent guns for the money.

I'd buy it. I just paid $325 for a 6" Dan Wesson .357 mag, although the guy threw in a box of SD ammo. Judging from the prices these things have started to take on Gunbroker now, I'd say it's a steal.
